Everyone always tells you that your 4 years in high school will fly by. Well, my freshman, sophomore, and junior year, I did not believe that at all. I felt like I had forever until graduation.
Now, there are only months left before I move away from my family, friends, and everything I’ve ever known.
Looking back at the past 4 years of my life, I think about everything I’ve learned about myself and life in general. I am going to miss so many aspects of high school from sports, to friends, to the sense of family I had in Paola.
When I look at the school, I don’t see all the times I dreaded the long walk to the doors, I don’t think about the homework and tests I didn’t want to take.
When I look at the school, I see the memories of Homecomings and pep rallies. I see the teachers who wanted the very best for me and my future. I see all of my peers who helped to shape me into the person I am today.
That school isn’t just walls and tile, that school holds every part of my classmates’ and my past 4 years of our lives. So, don’t take this time in high school for granted because it will go by faster than you think. These 4 years are preparing you for the rest of your life.
