Junior Chandler Karr said she feels as though she represents the high school by playing volleyball and carrying her team. Karr said carrying her team is essential because Paola is strongly based on sports.
Karr said she primarily plays middle hitter. She said she understands her role on the team.
“I know we only have one senior this year so there’s only one out on the court,” Karr said. “I know I have to step up and be a leader to the young kids, and teach them the ways. They look up to me so I feel like I need to be a role model.”
Karr said she strives to be the best player she can be every day. Her goal for herself this season is to get 250 kills.
“Our team goal is to win substate,” Karr said. “It’s been my goal for the past three years and we’ve been so close, but Louisburg has always just been right there. If we keep working hard like we are in practice we might have a chance. Louisburg is going to get better and we are too.”
Their record for this season as of Oct. 9, 2015 is 7-9-0.
