A new class offered this year gives students the opportunity to get 3 hours of college credit for $86.00.
According to the teacher, Monty Chayer, students learn about bookkeeping for corporations, they learn to read how corporations are doing and practice making decisions in the class.
“It’s fun to see the aspects that go into business and it keeps your mind sharp”, said senior Jonathan Gould.
According to Chayer, the students have to anticipate about one hour of work per class period. “There’s ten pages to read and example problems every night”, said senior Katie Jones.
Chayer confirms that it’s not an easy class. In the end everyone has to take a test. “Not everyone would pass it”, said Chayer.
But just because it’s a college class, doesn’t mean it’s not doable.
“Accounting 1, a good work ethic and a positive attitude would help” advised Chayer.
In addition, there’s another fact, which helps. “Chayer is an awesome teacher”, says Gould. “He knows how to get the point across.”
