Mason Hunter has been playing baseball since the age of 4. This season would have been his senior and final season at Paola. However, because of schools closing, it has been cut short.

“I was really looking forward to this season. Not just to play, but to play alongside my brothers, as well as for the community,” Hunter said.

Hunter will miss the memories he made at Paola; his favorite was playing at the State baseball tournament his sophomore year.

“It’s something I’ll cherish forever, but know I’ll never get that opportunity again,” Hunter said.

Hunter also will miss the people and his amazing teachers. To keep himself busy, Hunter has been teaching himself how to play guitar and spending time with family. He’s enjoying cooking dinner and watching movies with his mom.

This fall, Hunter plans to play baseball at MidAmerica Nazarene University and study business administration. He enjoys the atmosphere of the campus. When he visited, he loved how nice everyone which was a big reason he chose MNU. He looks forward to meeting more amazing people and making friends, which is something he does best.
