Aubrey Weatherbie, senior, plans to attend K-State this fall.

Paityn Hughes, Reporter

What do you plan to do after high school?
“I plan to attend Kansas State University and major in Agribusiness”

What is your inspiration for wanting to do this?
“Watching and helping my grandpa farm really inspired me to want to pursue that career”

What has been your best memory while attending PHS?
“My best memory while attending PHS was when the softball team went to state in Salina my freshman year after we won our first game, then Coach Collier said “Tonight we feast at Coyote Cannon” and that stuck in my brain throughout my high school career.”

What do you think is a legacy your class will leave on PHS?
“I feel like our class will leave the legacy of persevering in this time of uncertainty. We are living with being quarantined on what is supposed to be the best year of our lives – Senior Year 2020. We will not get our LASTS – our last season of playing sports, winning regionals, going to state, missing our last Prom, academic banquet, Scholarship night, last walk through our Senior day and the uncertainty if we will even have our graduation. However, we will leave behind the legacy that we have come together as a class and will walk into our futures as better people having lived through this time of uncertainty.”

What are you doing to pass the time during our stay-at-home order?
“I am passing the time by going on walks with my dog, helping out on the farm, and doing my homework early for once.”

How did you feel about not having class for the rest of the school year?
“I don’t think not having class phased me, but missing out on all of the activities and not seeing the people every day hurt me.”

What will you miss most about PHS?
“I will miss the sporting events and the family atmosphere.”

What was your best learning experience in high school?
“My best learning experience was when I was playing softball and I learned to never give up no matter how many curveballs are thrown at you.”
