Looking back on her junior year of high school paraprofessional, Emily Mead said it would be fun to be in charge of prom committee.

“I took over prom committee because I know how much fun doing this could be for the juniors because I did it when I was in high school,” Mead said.

Prom is not just about dressing up it is about hanging out with friends and feeling good about yourself in an environment you are not normally in, Mead said.

“I want these kids to use prom as an excuse to dress up and have fun with their friends,” said Mead.
Often times people disregard what goes on before prom, said Mead.

“Prom decorations this year consist mainly of things prom committee has put tons of time into building and creating” said Mead

Junior Sydney Custer, said prom committee gave her the chance to get more involved in the school.
“I thought prom committee would be a great way to get involved in the school and make prom the best it could be for the seniors,” said Custer.

Prom is all about using your money wisely and finding ways to make some of your big ticket items, Custer said.

“You can make a lot of things cheaper than if you bought them, plus you can personalize them to be just the way you want,” said Custer.

Sophomore Amanda Rosich, said she wants to make prom a fun experience for the juniors and seniors.
“I am looking forward to hanging out with the other servers as well as working together to make this as fun as possible for the juniors and seniors,” said Rosich.

Senior Sarah Banks, said she was most looking forward to being able to hang out with all her friends before the end of the school year.

“This is my last year to go to prom and this year I want to be able to enjoy it with all of my friends that are also attending.” said Banks. “Having your best friends at prom means you get have a whole lot more fun.”
