Senior Spotlight: Emi Zeller

Cheering on the sidelines, listening to the intense commotion of the crowd watching with anticipation. The stadium lights illuminate the football field as excitement runs through her veins. This is one of Emi Zeller’s best memories of high school.
“I have had so many great memories at PHS, and it is hard to pick my favorite, but I loved getting to cheer during Friday Night Lights,” Zeller said. “Getting to be on the sidelines with all of my friends is something I will miss so much. The atmosphere during a football game is so exciting and I would do a lot of things to get to cheer at one more game.”
Zeller was involved in many different clubs and learned many things from them.
“I think this was a huge factor in my experience in high school because I was able to connect with a larger group of people,” Zeller said. “I learned a lot of leadership and teamwork skills, and I got to help organize different events within the school, which was very rewarding.”
The special connections Zeller created with her friends and teachers helped her flourish in high school, she said.
“Most of us have spent years together and watched each other grow which really connects everyone. They have all helped me grow in many different ways, I have learned so much from my peers and teachers and I will always be grateful for that,” she said.
Zeller plans to major in nursing at K-State University. She is excited to attend their new bridge program and hopes to be a neonatal nurse.
“My inspiration for going into nursing stems from growing up around lots of doctors and hospitals due to my brother needing extra medical attention. Seeing how much the nurses cared for him and my family meant a lot and I hope I can be that support system for another family someday,” she said.
