Fall Vignette
December 6, 2016
Trees have turned into a variety of oranges, reds, yellows, and browns; leaves slowly breakaway from branches and float steadily towards the dying grass, past the wilting flowers.
The cool autumn breeze brings goosebumps as you sit at the cool, green tables at the drive-in-restaurant. Birds call out to one another while in the top portion of the surrounding trees, staying while they can before they migrate south. Insects swarm around, looking for places to catch a meal before the winter that is brewing.
The aroma of greasy burgers, fries, and hotdogs fill the air as Sonic’s staff rushes back and forth with meals. A stench only described as cigarette smoke can be scented faintly, from customers who lit a cigarette, letting it burn as they inhaled.
Sounds of vehicles quickly driving down the nearby highway can be heard while sitting down at a table. As well as police sirens when an officer get an order from dispatch; and the steady rumble of motorcycles as they drive past.
