DeAnna Morgan, art teacher, said teaching is about building relationships with students.

“It’s more about making that connection with students, and building those relationships, that’s what makes it fun,” said Morgan.

Morgan already had ties to the community and district since she student taught at the middle school a few years ago.

“I’ve always wanted the opportunity to come back and teach. I enjoy the staff and the kids and it was just a place that felt like home.”

Morgan has a bachelors in art education and a minor in special education from Pittsburg State University. She taught for three years at Wellsville. Morgan is originally from Fontana and graduated from Prairie View High School.

Morgan said she enjoys creating her own artwork and photography and selling it. She lives on a farm with her husband and three children.

Morgan has made some changes to her department including starting an Art Club which allows students to compete, participate in community service, and participate in activities.
