“One big family” is how senior Elizabeth Edwards described the volleyball team this year.
Head coach Michelle Abshire said the team their strong traditions of winning seasons.
“I am really proud of the entire program,” Abshire said. “We won league at the freshman, JV, and varsity levels.”
Edwards said the volleyball team will be good for years to come despite this year’s loss to Louisburg in the sub-state semi-finals.
“The underclassmen have a lot of potential, but also a lot to live up to.” Edwards said. “They can expect great things if they work for them.”
Abshire said the highlight of the season happened in Louisburg.
“Beating Louisburg on their senior night to clinch the league title was awesome,” Abshire said.
Edwards said she had a few personal achievements that made her season.
“Being named a defensive specialist and first team all-league is awesome,” Edwards said.
Abshire said she accomplished a huge milestone this season.
“Getting my 400th win in Pittsburg with this group is a memory I will always have,” Abshire said.
Edwards said the ending to the season was the worst she could have imagined.
“It was a big disappointment to do so well all season and then for one hour of one day you don’t play as good as you should have,” She said.
