Senior Justin Prothe said the atmosphere of the team was definitely a highlight of the season for him.
“We spent a lot of time bonding,” Prothe said. “We developed a great sense of camaraderie.”
The team had many injuries throughout the year, and it posed many chances for the team to bond.
“We had to constantly change line-ups,” Clint Maynard, head coach said. “It was really hard on the kids, never having the same line-up.”
Without injuries Maynard said the team was looking to be in good shape for the season.
“We went out and competed at a high level for our first four games,” Maynard said. “All we ask of the team is to compete at a high level.”
Prothe said the team was decimated by the injuries suffered amongst the team.
“Without everybody being hurt we would have been the best we had been in a while,” Prothe said. “Unfortunately we lost people to injuries almost every game.”
Maynard said he still took some positives from the season.
“The season was a lot of fun getting to know the kids and everybody always tried their best,” Maynard said.
Prothe said the season ended in heartbreak.
“We lost to a team we should have beaten in Independence,” Prothe said. “I am sad it is over.”
