Paola opened up postseason play with a 47-6 lashing of the Bulldogs from Anderson County.
Anderson County received the opening kickoff and started its drive from its own 28-yardline. After going only three yards, the Bulldogs were forced to punt 1:45 into the game.
Paola started its first drive from their own 42-yardline.The Panthers drove down the field 58 yards and scored after seven plays. The 3:01 drive came to fruition with a 1-yard touchdown run by senior Seth Kern.
As sure as the sun rising each morning, Paola dominated the ground game, gaining 359 yards and giving up only 166 yards of total offense. Paola also threw for 44 yards with two touchdowns through the air.
Anderson County spoiled the blowout by driving 66 yards on the final drive of the game, scoring as time ran out, ruining the shut-out.
Paola will play at Columbus Saturday.
Columbus is 4-6 and beat Parsons 41-13 in its bi-district game Tuesday.
