Jackson Setter, Opinion Editior

When most people hear the name Jackson Setter, they think of the guy who is always smiling in the halls, shagging balls on the court, or keeping stats at a game.
Jackson grew up in Paola, although the senior will soon be leaving the small town to join the students at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. There, he will major in Accounting, and hopes t`o obtain a position as manager of the University’s volleyball team.
The seventeen year old has been very dedicated to his volleyball team, being the manager for all four years of high school. Every day he is at practice, at games, even at camps.
Setter went to Dallas, Texas this summer with Abshire’s team for Nationals. The team was ranked seventh, but finished 15th overall due to player injuries.
“It was awesome!” Setter exclaimed, “There were over 100 courts to play on”.
When he isn’t helping support his team, Setter works at a local BBQ joint called We B Smokin.
“I love the people I work with, but I don’t like it when it gets really busy” he said, “although it makes the time pass by quickly”.
In his free time, Setter enjoys taking drives. “I used so many tanks of gas this summer just driving around to anywhere within about a 50 mile radius” he said with a smile.
Jackson is looking forward to college, although many people are going to miss him.
